Boarding Kennel Help

This dog job is not the most glamorous, but boarding kennel help is always needed to make the facility run smoothly.

If you have ever boarded your dog, then you know how large and busy these places can be.

The person is responsible for the everyday care of the dogs left at the facility. This includes feeding, grooming, watering, bathing, playing with and exercising the animals, disinfecting the cages and runs and play areas and cleaning up after the animals.

This is on the job training. You don't have to invest anything except your time and love of dogs. It will be dirty work and difficult on the back and legs, as you will be bending and lifting dogs and supplies.

You will definitely have to pick up dog feces and dispose of it properly. It is essential that the kennel be kept clean and odor and waste free. If not, diseases and parasites can spread from dog to dog.

As stated previously, this is not a glamorous job. It is hard work, repetitive, strenuous and sometimes dangerous. The pay isn't very good either.

That is why there is such a large turn around in this industry.

But if you choose this job, and many people have, the rewards will come. Some larger kennels are like corporations and have higher paying jobs that you can aspire to. Such as kennel assistant, manager or supervisor.

Do a good job, give 110% and you can climb the kennel ladder. Unfortunately, you have to start somewhere and that is at the bottom of the totem pole.
